It’s July now and we’re all feeling the summer heat, but that shouldn’t stop you and your kids from having fun! The PopUp Play team has been brainstorming creative activities to help you stay cool and have a great summer vacation.
Prepare your own PopUpsicles for a refreshing snack!

To make your very own PopUpsicles, all you’ll need are blueberries, strawberries, mint, lemonade, popsicle sticks, and popsicle molds (you can use small paper cups instead of molds). Rinse your fruit and mint leaves and then slice your strawberries into bite sized pieces. Fill the popsicle molds about half-way up with your yummy ingredients. Then, pour in the lemonade to cover your fruit. Make sure to leave about a half-inch for the PopUpsicle to expand. You don’t want to make a mess! After that, stick the popsicle stick in about half way through the mold. The delicious fruit will hold the stick in place until it freezes. Almost there! Place your creations in the freezer for about 3 hours. Once they’re frozen solid, take them out of the freezer, remove them from the popsicle mold, and enjoy!
Strawberries, blueberries, mint, and lemonade happens to be the PopUp Play crew’s favorite flavor combination but you can mix and match your favorite seasonal fruits with yogurt, coconut water, or different juices for a variety of flavors. Let us know your favorite combinations in the comments!
Cool down in your very own Backyard Water Park!

Roll out the slip n’ slide and set up the sprinklers because you’re inviting friends to a water park… in your own backyard! Stock up on sponges, water guns, and balloons to throw, squirt, and splash with your friends and don’t forget to protect yourself from the sun! Here some activities to help keep the party going:
Have a water balloon toss! Each kid needs a partner and a water balloon. Create two lines of kids, pairing each one with a partner across from them. Start off close to each other. Choose one partner to toss the balloon to the other partner. After each toss, take one step back. Be careful not to drop or break your balloon The game ends when there is only one set of partners with an unbroken balloon. The best part of this game is that even if you break your balloon, it’s still fun to get wet!
Play drip, drip, drench! The game is just like duck, duck goose, but with some splash. All you need is a group of friends and a large sponge. Instead of “duck” say “drip” and make a drip over each friend’s head and instead of tagging the person and saying “goose” you squeeze the wet sponge out over their head and yell “DRENCH!”
