As Thanksgiving draws near, the PopUp Play team wanted to take the time to recognize some global innovators, leaders and individuals who have helped bring us to where we are today.
PopUp Play Friends, Fans and MVPs
Firstly, we wanted to pause this busy season and acknowledge all of the mini makers, parents and PopUp Play VIPs who have supported us during this journey!
Whether you’ve been with PopUp Play from the very beginning or have only heard about us last week, we appreciate every fun message, photo and story sent our way showing kids having a blast. We pride ourselves on understanding and connecting with today’s youngest generation better than anyone else, and we wouldn’t be here without you all.
Entrepreneurial Thought Leaders
One category of innovators who go hand-in-hand with wave-makers in STEM fields are entrepreneurs who help spearhead the movement to bring it to a wider audience.
Steve Jobs, for example, is one man who revolutionized the way we, as a culture, think about and use our technology. Of course, without tablet technology like the iPad, the Build Lab wouldn’t be able to access so many kids and allow for their digital creativity to come to life in their own 3D playscape design!
Thanks to individuals like Steve Jobs and other innovative thinkers like Elon Musk, who dared to dream big and revolutionize the way we think about technology or space travel, today’s kids are inspired every day to follow their own ambitious aspirations.
PopUp Play is grateful for the men and women who have gone before us, introduced a new way to think and use technology and, in our case, how kids play and interact with technology.
Teachers and Educators
Nothing brings smiles to our faces more than hearing how a teacher put a castle or gingerbread house playscape in their classroom as a way for their students to learn, share and play together. We’ve had the opportunity to meet quite a few teachers who are passionate about their students’ education, interests and well-being.
Almost any adult can recall a teacher or two in their youth who significantly impacted them and inspired them to pursue their true passions and interests. Our teachers are an instrumental part in how are children are raised, and we are grateful for their time, effort and commitment to the youngest generation. After all, if recruiting a new generation of engineers is all part of our master plan, who better to help that plan come to fruition than our educators?
Grandparents and Family Leaders
While we’re certainly thankful for all the passionate, inspiring parents out there, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on another important older generation in the lives of many kiddos: grandparents.
At PopUp Play, we strongly believe that play can be timeless and fun for any age, and is a great opportunity to bring together the youngest family members with the oldest and every age in-between.
Some of our biggest fans are grandparents who have recounted stories of endless hours coloring, playing in and designing castles, gingerbread houses and more with their grandchild. Grandparents can pass down their knowledge and wisdom through generations of their family, and we are oh-so-thankful for our own grandparents who have taught us important life lessons and all the caring grandparents out there!
Did You Know?
We’re launching a #ThankfulThoughts campaign on our Twitter and Facebook! Some of the PopUp Play Big Kids are sharing what they’re thankful for, and we want to know what your thankful thoughts are, too! Follow along with us for a time of reflecting on our childhoods, the heroes in our lives and all the things we have to be grateful for this season.
