At PopUp Play, we believe that a child’s playhouse can become his or her own dojo: their new favorite place to dream, color and just be in.
Beyond coloring and playing inside, though, what else can you use your playhouse for? We’re here to tell you: anything you can think of! Such as…
The Ultimate Book Nook
Do you have a bookworm on your hands? Do they have too many books for you to keep up with? Solution: store some of them in your PopUp Play playhouse! You can create the ultimate book nook with a few squishy pillows, blankets and all the books your child could want to read. What better way to spend an afternoon after school?
By the way, we got this idea by talking to real-life kids who used a tower of their PopUp Play castle as their own personal book shelf. Kid-tested, PopUp Play Big Kid-approved.
A Great Playdate Piece
You may have seen us write about how to throw the best birthday party, in which your playhouse can be the star (besides the birthday kid, of course). Shared fun doesn’t have to wait till a birthday, though. Next time it’s your turn to host some kiddos at your house, be that cousins, school friends or neighbors, why not let them all play with the playhouse? Kids can build on each other’s imaginations while playing together and take turns coloring and crawling inside the playhouse. It’ll also keep them occupied for a while, so you can have some down time.
The Best Place For An After School Snack
Your playhouse could make an awesome lunch, dinner or snack area for your kiddo on a special occasion. It could be a special treat for your child to have a prince or princess pizza party in their castle, or for bringing all their favorite candies into his gingerbread house (okay, maybe not all their favorite candy). Or, maybe you’re just looking for a fun change of pace for dinner one night. The possibilities are endless!
A Prop In Your Favorite Fairytale
Do you have a little Elsa on your hands? Or a miniature Hansel and Gretel? Let your children’s imaginations run wild with their castle or gingerbread house! They can dress up and bring their own fake swords and shields to create the ultimate fairytale. Bonus points to you for dressing up like the fire-breathing dragon.
Kids can even create their own props or new side companion from the packaging of their playhouse to accompany them on all their adventures! Just look at one of our fans and her newest penguin sidekick she made from the box her playhouse came in.
More of a Star Wars fan? We’re just a few weeks out from launching our rocket ship, a great place to imagine and navigate the stars in!
A Quick, Easy Blanket Fort
We’ve mentioned in previous blog posts how much we love building a good old-fashioned pillow fort. Let your playhouse do the heavy lifting for you and serve as the backbone of your fort. Drape some blankets over the top of your castle, and fill the inside with more blankets and pillows. If you have some old strands of Christmas lights on hand, you can even wrap them around the top of the playhouse to fill the inside of your fort with twinkling fairy lights!
