Father’s Day is just around the corner, and with it comes a flood of gift guides and ideas to show dad you appreciate him. However, what better way is there to show dad you appreciate him than spending some quality time together?
We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite activities that the whole family can do together this Father’s Day to make it truly memorable.
Defend Your Castle From Invaders With This DIY Catapult
This Father’s Day, bond with your child by learning how to build something entirely new together. A few quick steps can turn clothespins, popsicle sticks, and hot glue to a fully functioning catapult. You can even make two catapults and take turns launching small items across the room at each other. Nothing like a little friendly competition to bring the family together!

Send Airplanes Soaring With This Paper Airplane Launcher
Looking for an even more simplistic project? Two nails, a rubber band and a plank of wood can create the ultimate paper airplane launcher. Kiddos can trade off turns with their dad to see who can launch their airplane the furthest.
If you’re looking to make a game out of it, you can even create a paper airplane target on the floor out of tape and create a numbers game. Bet you can’t make the 10!
Create Your Own Fully Functioning Robots
Finally, Father’s Day can be a great opportunity for dad to pass down some tinkering talent. Create your own mini robots with a few household items and basic tools. Kids can learn how a simple battery and some wire can create a fully functioning critter and even decorate their robot with googly eyes and pipe cleaner to make their own.
Not so secure in your robot-making ability? We’ve got you covered. Red Ted Art has step-by-step instructions and even a tutorial video here.
Whatever you do, we hope you have a great Father’s Day weekend!
